Wenger talks about the situation at Arsenal

The Merengue is not coming back in England at the Gunners, despite Robin van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner and Eduardo are all out through injury. From the pages of The Mirror, Wenger has admitted that this set of players k.o. inevitably lead the team on the market: “We are in early December, if we are in the same situation even in January we will see what to do – admit – but we can not dream of finding a world-class player, because that is what we need.”

Nicklas will be back in two weeks

Arsene Wenger today confirmed Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner will be back in full training in two weeks. Nicklas was originally set to play against Manchester City in the Carling Cup tie at the City of Manchester but will now more than be short of fitness for the tie.

Eager to return

Nicklas Bendtner’s father/agent Thomas Bendtner has said that Nicklas is back in light training and is eager to get back in the swing of things. Nicklas has been out of action since late October, but Arsenal do not wish to rush him back incase of a reaccurrance of the thigh injury.

Nicklas Bendtner has claimed his most prestigious award yet after being named the Danish Footballer of the Year for 2009.
The award was presented to the injury-striken front-man in a special programme called Dansk Fodbold Award on the TV2 television network in his homeland.

Bendtner and Merida, Arsenal win Liverpool

Arsenal play against Liverpool in Carling Cup on Emirates.
It was 1-1 half time and the “Baby-Gunners” find the decisive goal at 50 ‘. After a nice maneuver orchestrated by Merida and Ramsey, the Danish Nicklas Bendtner scored under the crossbar to give Arsenal a 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

A Nicklas Bendtner inspired Denmark side over came Sweden in a battle of Scandinavia to claim the final three World Cup qualifying points they needed to reach next summers tournament, with bragging rights for the natives to boot.
The hosts pushed harder for the goal in the second half via Dennis Rommedahl’s powerful effort, before Rommedahl combined with Bendtner to allow the Arsenal striker a shot at goal, but Isaksson was again on hand. Sweden thought they’d done enough when Henrik Larsson clipped home but the offside flag ruled out any hope of a shock winner. Nicklas’ former Birmingham team mate Seb Larsson came on with 25 minutes left and he would needed shortly after as the Danes finally broke the deadlock.
Bendtner’s clever run down the left created space, and then a perfectly weighted ball picked out Jakob Poulsen who made no mistake with an excellent finish. Sorensen made two superb saves late on but Denmark held on to take all three points and secure their place in next summers World Cup. The stage has been set for Bendtner to shine.

Nicklas score in Champions League

Arsenal win 3-2 in comeback is imposed on the field of Standard de Liège thanks to two goals in the final and thus deny ‘to the Belgian’s first unqualified success in the UEFA Champions League.

Milan Jovanovic score 5-th with a penalty kick (2-0!), then closing the first half and Nicklas Bendtner to shorten the distances to the English. The final race is crackling with Thomas Vermaelen equalized to 11 minutes from the final whistle and Eduardo signing the final overtaking 2 minutes more later.

Nicklas Bendtner has today announced that he will change his squad number from 26 to 52. It’s a suprising number but Bendtner has said that he has his own reason for personally choosing this number.

Nicklas has also kindly offered to personally refund every Arsenal fan that bought the “Bendtner 26” shirt. He said “Before it starts I wanted to change my squad number from 26 which I’ve obviously had for a number of seasons now. I chose to move to 52 because it’s a special number to me personally, and I hope that it brings me good luck for the new season.”
